Cowboys adopting wait and watch policy in free agency

The Cowboys who were on a signing spree in the last three free agency market seasons are looking to hold onto their dollars this season as they have decided to be relatively quiet in the free agency this year. The Dallas Cowboys have so far spent very wisely in the first week of the free agency and have focused on retaining Flozell Adams for another six years by shelling out $43.8 million. They have also tried to protect free agents Marion Barber for $2.56 million restricted tender, Ken Hamlin for $4.396 million with a franchisee tag and finally Chris Canty for $2.017 million restricted tag.

The Cowboys revealed that it is no small feat trying to hang on to the services of Adams for the Dallas team and the veteran offensive line was solely responsible for helping Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo break multiple passing records during the last season. The club now has about $4 million in its cap room and has traded Jackson Ferguson for a sixth round pick to the Dolphins. The Cowboys signed only one ranked outsider into the team so far and that is line back Zach Thomas who has agreed on a four year deal to play for the Dallas team. The Cowboys can still afford to make one or two bids in the free agency.
