Aveion Cason re-signs for Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions have announced that they have re-signed their trusted running back Aveion Cason for one more year. They have also roped in free agent G Corey Hulsey for a one year deal and the additional contract information for signing both the players were not revealed. Cason will be in his second appearance for the Detroit Lions this season and his first stint for the Lions was the 2006 season. The running back is in his eighth year on the NFC and is much valued for the depth he adds in the offensive backfield.
Cason has played in 49 games so far with five starts and has 3 touchdowns and 122 carries for the 552 yards. Cason played six games for the Detroit’s in 2006 season and had two starts in the fag end of the season. He had 24 rushing attempts of 94 yards, 4 returned kickoffs for 110 yards and 5 receptions for 26 yards. Cason got up to the fifth position in the NFC last season for kick off return yards as well as in kick off return average. Cason was first seen on the NFL scene as an undrafted rookie free agent player for St. Louis in the year 2001, and since then has been a dominant force in the NFL.
