Indiapolis Colts are No.1 in Hearts of Fans

Among all teams that encompass the NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB bodies, the Indiana Colts are rated No.1 in terms of fan satisfaction. The fans have cited various reasons for their approval and love for this team and these reasons include the fact that the Indianapolis Colts value their fans more than anything and created opportunities for fans’ opinions to be heard. Besides giving fans value for money tickets, providing online forums and comprehensive sites for fans and encouraging fans to get to know each other, the Colts were also well loved for being a loyal and appreciative team.

The results were garnered from ESPN’s Ultimate Standings polls. Over 80,000 fans were surveyed in SportsNation and the burning question was why they invested so much on their favorite teams and what do they expect to be rewarded with. On the other end, team owners were also probed to get clues as to how they convert ticket sales from fans into on-field wins.

Indianapolis Colts releases veterans McFarland and Morris

Rob Morris, the outside line back veteran and defensive tackle veteran Bogger McFarland, have been released by the Indianapolis Colts this year, according to the Colts President Bill Polian. The head coach of the Colts, Tony Dungy, felt that their release was a difficult decision to make and it hurt the entire Colt management as well. Polian said that the release of the two veterans does not mean the end of their career for Colts and he will reassess the situation if the need arises and is waiting for the free agency period to get over.
Both McFarland and Morris were equally responsible in helping the Colts lift the Super Bowl title, but the knee injuries to both players have hindered their progress in the Colts team. Dungy feels that, there are several other players who have shown good match playing capabilities and the management of the Colts have dwelled hard upon this matter, before releasing the veterans and have done so by keeping in mind the 2008 season. Polian agreed that it was hard for him to take such a decision even though it might be temporary and said that there is a huge difference between personal relationships and professional relationships. Polian also revealed that the Colts are not going to go all out in the preliminary stages of the free agency.

There were thirteen National Football League games on Sunday, however, the only one that we cared about was played in Indianapolis. Fortunately, it did not disappoint. New England’s defense sealed the deal, recovering a Manning fumble with 2:25 to go. After Indianapolis punt, the Patriots drove right down the field again, ended the drive and the game, on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Brady to Faulk with 3:15 to play.
